The short version
- GeoStamp has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your photos, locations and settings are stored only on your iPhone. We never receive them.
- To show an address, map and weather, your location is sent to Apple's services, not to us.
- Photos you save or share contain the stamp and GPS metadata. Think before sharing them publicly.
This Privacy Policy explains how DevAppStudio ("we", "us") handles information in the GeoStamp iOS app (the "App") and on this website. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal data through the App. The App has no sign-up, no servers of its own and no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
2. Information processed on your device
To work, the App uses the following with your permission. This information is processed and stored only on your device, inside the App's private storage:
| Permission | Why the App uses it |
|---|---|
| Camera | To take photos and show the live viewfinder. |
| Location (While Using) | To add your address, coordinates, accuracy, altitude, heading and a mini map to the stamp, and GPS data to the photo's metadata. |
| Photos (Add Only) | To save your stamped photos to your photo library. The App cannot read or see your other photos. |
| Motion & Fitness | To read air pressure from the iPhone's barometer and the device orientation so photos are saved upright. |
Each permission is optional. You can deny it or change it any time in Settings → GeoStamp. For example, without location the App still takes photos with the date and time.
The App also stores, on your device only: the photos you take in its Collection, your stamp templates, folders, saved custom locations and your preferences (units, date format, etc.).
3. Apple services used by the App
Some stamp details need the internet. For these, the App sends your approximate or precise coordinates directly to Apple, never to us:
- Apple Maps (MapKit): to turn coordinates into an address, draw the mini map and search places.
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit): to show temperature, humidity and wind on the stamp. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather (data sources).
Apple processes this information under the Apple Privacy Policy. Apple states that Maps does not associate this data with your Apple Account. If you are offline, the App works without these details.
4. Photos you share
Every photo taken with the App has the stamp (address, coordinates, time, map) drawn into the image, and GPS location and time stored in its metadata (EXIF). When you share a photo, anyone who receives it can see this information. To share a photo without location, turn off location in the App before taking it, or remove the location in the iOS share sheet using Options → Location.
5. Crash reports
If you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. These do not identify you and we use them only to fix bugs. You can turn this off at any time.
6. Purchases
The App is sold through the Apple App Store. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive your name, payment card or billing details.
7. This website and support emails
If you contact us by email or through a form on this website, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us (for example, your iPhone model). We use this only to reply to you and to help with your request, keep it no longer than needed (normally up to 24 months), and never sell it or use it for marketing. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. This website sets one essential session cookie to protect forms from abuse, and uses no tracking cookies.
8. Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored only on your device, you control it. Delete individual photos in the App, or delete the App to remove all of its data from your device. Photos already saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them in the Photos app. To delete support emails you sent us, email us and we will delete them.
9. Security
Your App data is protected by iOS sandboxing and your device's passcode encryption. We follow Apple's privacy guidelines and request only the permissions the App needs.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA in California, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to complain to a data protection authority. Since we don't collect data through the App, these mostly apply to support emails. Email support@devappstudio.tech and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add features. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention them in the App's release notes. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the new policy.
