AnyDoc Support
Answers to common questions about AnyDoc, and a direct line to our team.
Getting started
Which files can AnyDoc open?
PDF, Word (DOC, DOCX), Excel (XLS, XLSX, CSV), PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX), text (TXT), rich text (RTF) and ZIP archives. RAR archives aren't supported yet; we plan to add them in a later update.
Do I need an account or internet?
There is no account and no sign-up, and opening your documents works offline. AnyDoc uses the internet only to load ads, for purchases, and to download files you open from iCloud Drive.
Is AnyDoc free?
Yes. AnyDoc is free and shows ads. The optional AnyDoc Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, never a subscription.
Adding & finding files
How do I add files?
Tap + on the Library screen to import from the Files app, iCloud Drive or other storage apps. You can also open an attachment in Mail, Messages, WhatsApp or any other app, tap the Share button and choose AnyDoc.
Where are my files stored?
On your iPhone only. Open the Files app and go to On My iPhone › AnyDoc to see them. Folders and renames are real, so they show up in both places. AnyDoc never uploads your documents.
How do I open a ZIP file?
Tap the ZIP archive to see what's inside, then tap any file to view it, or extract everything. Extracted files go into a new folder next to the archive and never overwrite your existing files.
Opening documents
A password-protected file won't open
AnyDoc opens password-protected PDFs: enter the password when asked. It is never saved. Password-protected Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can't be opened yet. Remove the password on a computer and share the file again.
A document looks different from the original
Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are shown with Apple's built-in Quick Look viewer. Unusual fonts, macros, animations and some complex layouts may look different. For important documents, check them in the app that created them.
A file says it's damaged or can't be shown
The file may be incomplete or corrupted. Try downloading or exporting it again. If it opens elsewhere but not in AnyDoc, contact us below with the file type and size. Please don't send confidential documents.
Ads & privacy
Why does AnyDoc show ads?
Ads keep AnyDoc free. They are provided by Google AdMob. AnyDoc Lifetime removes the full-screen video ads; a small banner ad remains.
How do I change my ad and privacy choices?
For tracking, go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland you can also change your ad consent from the app's menu under Privacy choices.
Can you or the ad network see my documents?
No. Your documents never leave your iPhone unless you share them. Google AdMob collects some device, usage and diagnostic data to show ads, but never your files. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Purchase
What does AnyDoc Lifetime include?
A one-time payment that unlocks Scan to PDF and Photos to PDF and removes full-screen video ads. It's not a subscription and never renews. A small banner ad remains.
How do I restore my Lifetime purchase?
Open Scan to PDF or Photos to PDF and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Will deleting AnyDoc delete my files?
Yes. Files stored in AnyDoc's folder are deleted with the app. Before deleting it, move anything you want to keep, for example to iCloud Drive with the Files app.
Tip: include your iPhone model, iOS version and the steps that cause the problem. Screenshots help too. Reply to our email to attach them.
